The PNV leader believes the Madrid City Council president is “using the freedom to favor those who have the most and lower their taxes”.
The president of the PNV, Andoni Ortuzar, this Saturday accused the president of the municipality of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, of “using the freedom to favor those who have the most and lowering their taxes”, at the expense of the “quality of public services” and “attention to the most deprived”.
Ortuzar alluded to Ayuso’s visit to Euskadi today, speaking on the occasion of the celebration of the EGI Eguna (PNV Youth Day) in the Gipuzkoan town of Azkoitia, also attended by EGI member Amaia Larrañaga and mayor candidate Ana Azkoitia.
They all had words in memory of the historical leader of Jeltzale, Xabier Arzalluz, a native of Azkoitia, whose sentences and images, printed on panels, adorned the square where the act took place, which concluded with a video of a speech by the former president jeltzale who passed away in 2019.
The current leader of the PNV focused his speech on encouraging the youth of his party to follow in the footsteps of its founder, Sabino Arana, and to warn them of the risk of the Basque Country falling into the hands of messages that contradict are with the “freedom” of young dissidents of the nationalist left.
Ortuzar lamented that the present times are “times of political deception, of bottomless characters, of authoritarian tics, of cheap populism“like the one who represents Ayuso and who, in his view, also defines the most extreme left that groups in Euskadi in the organization Gazte Koordinadora Sozialista, the youth dissent of the nationalist left.
“I am referring to that emerging and dissident sector that is causing so much headache for the ‘bildukides’ and the official youth, who see how they are accused of being ‘epelas’ (moderate) and sold to the system,” explained Ortuzar, who has defined the members of this group as “pure talk, pure deceit: they are sons and daughters of the bourgeoisie, they live like bourgeois
They benefit from the Euskadi of well-being that we have builtbut they present themselves as revolutionaries, they believe they are the new reincarnation of the proletariat and the popular classes,” he added.
You have mentioned the alleged sympathy for Russia shown by these sectors to ensure that “these salon revolutionaries are not allowed to try divert attention about the tragedy that the Ukrainian people are going through”.
At the end of his speech, however, he made a brief allusion to the president of the Madrid City Council, who visited Vitoria-Gasteiz yesterday and assured that the PNV “probably found a penchant for raising taxes because it treasury to swell quickly”, while warning that this strategy could end in “a situation of collapse” of the economy.
Ortuzar has not missed the opportunity to respond to the leader of the PP, whom he has defined as a “model of deception” and “cheap populism”.
“Another one who is a champion of freedom, but she uses freedom to” favor those who have more and lower their taxes, even if the quality of public services and care for the most deprived are sacrificed,” said the PNV chairman.
Amaia Larrañaga Arregi, member of the EGI National Council and born in Azkoitia, in his speech he addressed aspects such as Basque, equality, the war in Ukraine, energy, the economy or the demands and needs of the youth. “Our challenge is to promote Basque. We must promote and encourage its use, each with their own words, in their own way, faster or slower, but in Basque! Basque is what unites and distinguishes the seven areas, it is our being Euskaraz Bizi!”, he claimed.
