The newly elected socialist candidate for mayor of San Sebastian, Marisol Garmendiahas indicated that “anyone who wants a project for the future” will run for the next municipal elections, after being asked if he will add Odon Elorzahis rival in the primaries, on his plate.
“I will add everyone who wants to, all colleagues who want a future project to restore the mayor’s office,” he stressed.
In a short interview for Radio Euskadi’s “Boulevard” program, Garmendia emphasized that the militancy has chosen “an alternative for the future, a new leadership and a new phaseThe socialist leader has won a clear victory, with 66% of the vote, in the party’s internal elections, compared to 34% won by Elorza.
According to Garmendia, the socialist ranks value his “capacity for leadership, the management of the councilors in the city council and a city and citizenship project”, in which he has insisted that “people are fundamental”.
Finally she is convinced that the next mayor of San Sebastian will be a woman (she is currently the only candidate), who will exercise “empathic leadership, close and very close to the street”.
