Wlazny in talks – voices of frustration, fun politics and not in the mood for the Greens

Date:

In the “Club 3” interview, Beer Party founder and presidential candidate Dominik Wlazny talks about his political future and whether he can imagine working with other parties.

With the well-known coolness, the typical leather jacket and a Coke can, he walked into the studio of “Club 3” in time: we are talking about Dominik Wlazny, the boss of the beer party and third place in the federal presidential elections last Sunday.

He appeared in front of the camera for a panel discussion with Klaus Herrmann, the editor-in-chief of “Krone”, Gernot Bauer of “profil” and Martin Gebhart (“Kurier”).

Recipe for success: modest, yet serious
Before his television appearance, where Dominik Wlazny traveled as usual by subway, the full-time musician in the mask took his hair into his own hands and quickly sprayed hairspray into his black mane—he’d been just as sober in the presidential campaign staged: the 35-year-old relied on modesty.

With only nine election posters on Vienna’s Mariahilfer Strasse, he expressed his 27 subjects under the motto “Red’ma drüber!”.

Clear statements about a (still) unclear future
He wants his subjects to focus on those who “feel uncared for” by current politics. He especially scored with young people with his relaxed way of talking about serious subjects.

Casual look – but also clear announcements from the founder of the beer party in “Club 3”. While he still leaves a lot open to his political future, Wlazny is certain: Despite drinking beer on “friendly basis” with former SPÖ leader and chancellor Christian Kern, he can rule out being on a joint list with him in the future. state .

He also denies the possibility of collaborating with the Greens; After all, a Graz Green district politician insulted him and the Green Youth handed out coasters warning against Wlazny. “Do you really think I’m in the mood to even start a conversation with the Greens?” Wlazny clarified his position.

Not just “voices of frustration” for the punk rock musician
The presidential candidate does not rate his votes as ‘votes of frustration’, but rather emphasizes that his voters are dissatisfied with the established parties. He therefore scores as a new candidate who stands out from the rest.

Unlike his fictional character “Marco Pogo”, Dominik Wlazny has the necessary seriousness to be a serious politician and campaign on important issues. Yet humor should not be missing – “because where is it written that politics cannot convey pleasure and joy?”
