1. Thomas Schmid – former general secretary at the Ministry of Finance headed by the ÖVP – testified before the prosecutor’s office that Kurz had ordered him to commit criminal offences. Above all, rigged surveys via fake invoices were allegedly illegally paid for with tax money from the ministry. Former Chancellor Kurz insists this is an outright lie by Schmid, who used to be one of the top “officers” in the republic.
