Usansolo, so far Galdakao district, will become Bizkaia’s 113th municipality.

The general assemblies of Bizkaia will approve the request of the Galdakao City Council tomorrow for the usansolo segregation and its constitution as an independent municipality. As it is, it will be municipality 113 of Bizkaia.
The proposal was previously endorsed by the Institutional Committee on Good Governance and Transparency of the Councils, which approved it on 11 October with the support of PNV, EH Bildu and Podemos, while the PSE-EE voted against and abstained.
The agreement, which defines the boundaries of the new municipality, stipulates that the Usansolo City Council, with some 4500 inhabitantswill start its activity with a staff of 25 employees who are currently providing their services for Galdakao.
Until the new municipality approves it Urban planningwill use the one established by the Galdakao City Council for its territory.
The heritage assets de Galdakao, based in Usansolo, will be part of the new consistory, which will be in charge Services such as public lighting, urban cleaning and sanitation, as well as public buildings on its territory, such as the library and the sports center.
Also, other services as will be the management of the cemetery, the Music School or the Euskaltegi led jointly by both churches.
The segregation of Usansolo from Galdakao is a historical claim. In the plebiscite held in March this year, 81.5% of the participants supported Usansolo’s withdrawal.
