Euskaraz irakurri: Enrique Maya ez da berriro Iruñeko alkategai izango
the regionalist Enrique Maya (Navarra sum, Na+) will not repeat as a candidate for mayor of Pamplona, as confirmed by EITB Media.
Maya has been in Pamplona City Hall for 12 years, eight of them as mayor. The UPN politician has ruled that his “political cycle has ended”, so he has decided not to participate again.
UPN has not yet announced who the candidate will be, and it is not clear whether the coalition formed by UPN, PP and Ciudadanos, Na+, which ran for election four years ago, will be repeated.
Maya’s resignation comes as most parties have already outlined their candidates for the municipal elections. Yesterday came confirmation of the candidacy of Elma Saiz, current spokesperson for the regional government and minister of economy and finance, for the psn (until now it was Maite Esporrin). For his part, EH Bildu confirmed months ago that Joseba Asiron will be his candidate for mayor of Pamplona.
