The well-known furniture discounter Möbelix has launched a campaign that has caused quite a stir. Specifically, the company alludes to the well-known Schmid chats in a fictional chat history.
“I’ve never gone this far” – and other statements in the chat logs of former ÖBAG boss Thomas Schmid have shocked the republic. Now the DMB bureau has rearranged the statements.

XXXLutz Marketing Manager Thomas Saliger made his first name available for the lively dialogue. His chat partner is the “Möbelix-Man” and he responds very quickly to requests like “money shit…”, “you get everything you want anyway”.
Such word fragments are very reminiscent of Schmid’s conversations with other ÖVP officials – these are still currently occupying the prosecutor’s office. However, the case is not about the extremely questionable choice of words, but much more about a suspicion of corruption that has even reached ex-chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
