ÖVP Secretary General Laura Sachslehner is threatened with an aftermath – she suspected hidden party funding from the SPÖ.
In the course of the advertising affair at the Wirtschaftsbund Vorarlberg, the Turks also tried to target political competitors. Secretary General Sachslehner focused on a special issue of “Burgenland Freedom”. The former SPÖ weekly has now been discontinued. For the anniversary “100 years of Burgenland” there was a special edition of the association “Freunde der BF”.
Sachslehner suspected “hidden party funding” through advertisements from state-related companies. Provincial governor Hans Peter Doskozil learned from the Viennese SPÖ how to “skilfully circumvent the media transparency law”.
Now there is almost certainly an aftermath. There is a threat of an injunction by the SPÖ Burgenland and the association “Freunde der BF”. “Mrs Sachslehner will have to answer to court for these objectively false accusations,” state manager Roland Fürst and the club head of the state parliament, Robert Hergovich, announce.
Sachslehner is not impressed: “We will not be silenced by Doskozil’s methods and will consistently expose everything for which the SPÖ in Burgenland is responsible.”
