Activist Krumpeck – Slot Tires: “We Don’t Do Such a Thing”

Date:

“Civil resistance is not a popularity contest,” says last-generation co-founder Martha Krumpeck in the krone.tv talk with Jana Pasching. Many movements of the past have already tried to take everyone along and convince them. “But there is a part of society that will not understand even 20 years from now if their own house floats away.” The “last generation” has nothing to do with the tire cutters, Krumpeck assures.

“We are a strictly nonviolent movement.” The SUV problem in the cities cannot be denied. But: “As the ‘last generation’, we wouldn’t do that. Cutting and stabbing tires is going too far in my opinion.” If the protest continues to be so neglected, it will certainly escalate strategically. That does not mean that violence would be used. “We would never do that.” However, it is considering “choosing more disruptive blockade sites, extending and prolonging action waves and using methods that have already been successfully used in other countries, such as other sticking methods.” will do it to make sure we are not ignored.”

“There is so much in trouble, the hut is on fire
“I understand that we are upsetting people.” Drivers are not the real target of climate activists. “Sorry to disturb you,” Krumpeck said. “But we tried everything else, but the result was very subdued.” Now you’re in the way of everyday life so you can’t be ignored anymore. “The hat is on, this government has no climate plan and more taxpayer money is being thrown away on climate-damaging subsidies today than a few years ago,” are just a few of the climate activist’s criticisms. “There are so many problems, the cabin is on fire.”

Activist doused in chlorine bleach
On Monday, there was a particularly horrific incident, as Krumpeck says. During a registered demonstration in front of the German embassy for Lützerath, a village that is being replaced by a lignite factory, an activist was doused with chlorine bleach by a passerby. “By luck, nothing happened to the people, because only the clothes were affected.” This is a “degree of cowardly terror” against people who peacefully stand up for our lives. According to Krumpeck, the activist involved was not of the “last generation”.
