ÖVP, Groenen, NEOS – A bear, wrong political world and snow storms!

Date:

After the internal election campaign started on Sunday, the Carinthian People’s Party presented the first series of election posters for the upcoming state elections on Monday. However, according to Gruber, it is “presumptuous” to claim the provincial governor.

For the ÖVP Carinthia, there is one question in particular: “Who should play a decisive role in Carinthia besides the SPÖ?” According to top candidate Martin Gruber, it is already clear who will become governor. “But it matters how strong the ÖVP performs!”

The election campaign focused heavily on Gruber. “We asked people what makes Martin Gruber special,” says state manager Julia Löschnig, who fears asylum chaos and gender madness in the event of a red-green government, debt policies and wrong decisions on the airport issue in a coalition between SPÖ and FPÖ. Two attributes eventually made it to the posters: steadfast and energetic.

Protect Carinthia, strengthen regions, promote settlement.
Gruber and his team want to convince the inhabitants of Carinthia with these three themes. However, not only posters are used in the election campaign. A coffee monkey and Martin Gruber’s new mascot “GruBär” will accompany the ÖVP election campaign for the next 40 days until March 5. “There will also be a social media campaign, as well as banners and landscape elements,” adds Loeschnig.

Although Gruber “does not want to deny his roots”, the color turquoise is almost completely omitted from the posters. “The starting point is difficult, I want to fight for every vote,” Gruber says motivated. Because: “March 5th is about Carinthia and not about Vienna!”

Prominent help should come to Carinthia before the “Political Ash Wednesday” on February 22. Chancellor Karl Nehammer and former German Federal President Christian Wulf have been announced. The cost limit of the election campaign of 500,000 euros may in any case not be exceeded.

Top candidate is upside down
The Carinthian Greens have resorted to unconventional posters for the state election campaign, which depict top candidate Olga Voglauer upside down. But it wasn’t a mistake: “Why am I upside down on the posters? Because the world is upside down too!” said the National Council. “So you can change your perspective from time to time!”

The posters also read: “Pellets or Putin?” and “Protect Daham? Gemma!”, where the Greens refer to dependence on Russian gas on the one hand and the effects of climate change on the other, using the example of the severe storms in the neighboring valley this summer.

Voglauer on TikTok
Special attention should be paid to personal exchange: “We will be represented with information stands in the cities, but we will also be out and about in the communities,” says Voglauer. And of course social media will also play a role in the green election campaign, as Olga Voglauer and Peter Kaiser are the only top candidates represented on the video platform Tiktok. “In this way, with a little humor you can bring important issues closer, especially to young voters,” explains Voglauer.

The NEOS for the state parliament
The Carinthian Pinks demonstratively presented their election posters in the courtyard of the manor house in front of the Carinthian state parliament. “We will make it to the state parliament,” said Janos Juvan, the top candidate of the Carinthian NEOS. “So that education in Carinthia continues and all top performers are represented in politics.” Juvan also did not let the dense flurry of snow spoil his mood: “It suits the mood – we bring color to this gray day and also to the people of Carinthian politics!”

education and top performers
The pink election posters are dedicated to two central NEOS themes. “Education is still neglected by politics, but here lies the solution to many future challenges,” emphasizes Janos Juvan. “And we finally want to give the top performers in Carinthia a voice. This is everyone going to work every day, volunteering and creating jobs.”

Not entitled to the post of governor
Unlike most other parties, Janos Juvan has no claim to the highest office: “I find it dubious and questionable in terms of democratic politics for a party to fantasize with ten percent of the LH post,” Juvan clarifies. “We focus on working for the Carinthians – whether in a coalition or as an opposition party.”
