Judge José Luis Calama attributes six terrorist crimes to him for sending letters containing pyrotechnic material to Pedro Sánchez, to the embassies of Ukraine and the US, to Margarita Robles, to the installations of the company Instalaza and to the Torrejón Air Base satellite center.
The judge of the National Court José Luis Calama has approved the unconditional prison sentence of the 74-year-old man arrested in Miranda de Ebro for sending six letters containing explosives. The envelopes of pyrotechnics were sent to Pedro Sánchez, the Spanish Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, the Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid, the Instalaza corporate facilities, the US Embassy in Madrid and the Torrejon Air Base satellite center.
In his warrant, Magistrate José Luis Calama credits six crimes of terrorism, four crimes of terrorism and two crimes of aggravated terrorism (for shipments to Sánchez and Robles), and another felony of using incendiary or incendiary explosives for terrorist purposes.
The judge’s resolution explains that while there are no indications that the person under investigation belongs to or collaborates with a terrorist gang or organized group, the actions objectively attributed to him (sending six envelopes containing boxes of explosives on three several days), the context in which they take place (Ukrainian war) and the recipients of the packages show that they “seriously disturb public peace”.
Regarding the aggravated modality of two terrorist crimes, Calama indicates that it should be taken into account that one of the shipments was expressly addressed to the President of the Government with his first and last name and that it was similarly sent to the Minister of Defense was sent.
The crimes charged carry a prison sentence of 20 years.
An appeal for reform can be lodged against the arrest warrant within three days and an appeal within five days.
