Every party has to decide for itself whether there is something to celebrate or not. Yet all colors invite to the party. True to the motto: “The main thing is that the election campaign is over!” The “Krone” asked around all election parties.
“We only believed in such a good result in the end” – was the tenor at the FPÖ election party in the state office in St. Pölten. Party members’ expectations were about 19 percent of the vote, that you got 24.2 percent seems to have almost “overwhelmed” many. The atmosphere at the election party seemed more surprised than exuberant – but it could also be because the “star of the evening” Udo Landbauer was a long time coming. With the arrival of the “election winner”, the atmosphere was at its peak.
Bitter and painful
The ÖVP had little reason to celebrate with the election result of 39.9 percent. The atmosphere in the city hotel in St. Pölten was accordingly, there was no party atmosphere here. The goal is to regain voters’ confidence, Johanna Mikl-Leitner said in her speech. The circumstances were unique.
Tristesse at the election party SPÖ
Disappointed faces of the SPÖ election party at party headquarters in St. Pölten. The main election goal was to break through the absolute of the ÖVP in the country – and they succeeded, Franz Schnabl emphasized in his speech. However, there was no festive mood during the visit to the “Krone”. At 8:24 p.m., the first comrades said goodbye: “You, we’re going home. Not much happens nowadays!”
Party atmosphere at the NEOS
The NEOS celebrated their 6.7 percent result at the Palais Wellenstein in St. Pölten. The mood was visibly exuberant. Thunderous applause and “Indra” choirs greeted the Neos top candidate Sunday night at the election party at Café Wellenstein in St. Pölten, and she really let it go.
Loud music and roaring laughter from the Greens
The Greens celebrated their small plus at the Fliegerbräu in St. Pölten on Sunday evening. Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler was also present and mingled with the celebrating guests. They swung and sang along to various oldies and German rock songs.
The “Krone” reported on the state elections all day. An overview of the results and analyzes can be found here.
