Consult with us! – ÖVP crashes, FPÖ triumphs: harbinger for the federal government?

Date:

A political earthquake is sweeping through the country! The ÖVP crashes below 40% and Lower Austria’s FPÖ triumphs with the best result in its history. Will Black fail and Blue celebrate in the National Council elections? Katia Wagner talks about this with her guests on Wednesday 8:15 PM on krone.tv!

The goal of the state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner was already modest with “40 Plus”. This wish was a far cry from the result of the last elections in 2018, when she still managed to get 49.63 percent. But this Election Sunday, things were about to get even worse…

“Global crises” are the cause of the ÖVP debacle
Because in this state election, “Hanni” managed to convince only 39.94 percent of the voters and had to accept a minus of almost ten percentage points. “Today is marked by a wave of protests, which were mainly triggered by the global crises,” explains Johanna Mikl-Leitner. She must now tremble for the governor’s chair…

Will Doskozil replace Rendi-Wagner?
There should also be a hangover in the SPÖ. The Lower Austrian Reds had fallen to 20.66 percent of the vote – that’s the worst result ever! Because of this, Franz Schnabl had to give way to Sven Hergovich. Whether there will now also be a debate about the chairman in the federal SPÖ around Pamela Rendi-Wagner? After all, the course should no longer be completely correct!

FPÖ thanks Van der Bellen
On the other hand, the FPÖ can cheer. On Sunday, she achieved the historically best result in Lower Austria, finishing in second place with 24.2 percent of the vote. The FPÖ saw this as a lesson for “Van der Bellen and Co.”, Tyrolean party leader Markus Abwerzger thanked the Federal President after the elections, who had announced in the run-up to the elections that he would not want to swear in a chancellor Herbert Kickl. “This was the first joke,” said the federal government’s blue leader regarding next year’s National Council elections…

Can Chancellor Kickl come?
Were the elections in Lower Austria a precursor to next year’s National Council elections? Can the ÖVP recover by then? And how realistic is a Chancellor Kickl? That’s what political analysts discuss on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in a conversation with Katia Wagner on krone.tv! Join the conversation and tune in!

Katia Wagner – the talk, every Wednesday at 8:15 pm on krone.tv and at 11:00 pm on ntv Austria!
