Vienna Integration Council – Experts according to Waldhäusl-Sager: “Vienna would be empty!”

Date:

The announcement by Gottfried Waldhäusl, provincial councilor of the Lower Austrian FPÖ, in a TV show caused a stir: according to him, “Vienna would still be Vienna” with fewer people with a migration background. Now the Integration Council is also harshly critical – and paints a picture of what the capital would look like if the PVV’s asylum policy had been introduced 20 to 30 years ago.

“Cities have always been places of togetherness, diversity, arrival and integration. Worldwide, people with a migration history mainly live in cities; in some districts of Vienna, the proportion of the population with migration experience or a family history of migration exceeds 50 percent. Without migration, Vienna would be one thing above all: EMPTY,” said the Vienna Integration Council.

Here again the scandal-monger in the Pulse 4 “Pros and Cons” discussion:

According to the Vienna Integration Council, there has never been a Vienna without immigrants, also from a historical perspective. County Councilor Waldhäusl’s statements were sharply rejected: “As members of the Vienna Integration Council WIR, we welcome the cultural diversity of the city, which has always been the source of its innovative strength, creativity and further development, and we strongly condemn the racist statement of Gottfried Waldhäusl, provincial councilor of Lower Austria.”

“All citizens of Vienna, regardless of origin, language, ethnicity, religious belief or citizenship, contribute to peaceful and successful coexistence in the federal capital and make it one of the most livable metropolises in the world,” it concludes.
