In the center of the square room hangs a chandelier designed by Theophil Hansen, on which sit eight golden angels. The SPÖ boss ordered the carpets in pastel colors online. The sand-colored marble walls are still bare, but two paintings by the artists Josef Schwaiger and Matta Wagnest will soon be hanging there. Like a black and white portrait of Bruno Kreisky, which Pamela Rendi-Wagner loves, it comes from the Kreisky archive. “Then it doesn’t reverberate like that anymore,” she explains and quickly drinks her banana before sitting down at the large white table.
