The Home Office has agreed to “round up” the amount and go from 65 to 70 euros the allowances for citizens chosen by the public lottery, which henceforth form the polling stations, with the aim of “facilitating” management and payment, since those in cash are still “in the majority”.
As published this Monday by the Official State Gazette (BOE), they justify from the ministry headed by Fernando Grande-Marlaska that “it was advisable” to adjust the amount and this is stated in a new order that replaces the last one, promulgated in the year 2019.
“Until that date, polling station members’ per diems were updated to the same extent as officials’ pay, although this system made it considerably difficult to manage payments, fundamentally in the cases, still in the majority, in which cash out , so it was recommended to do that round up the amount of the fee to facilitate these payments‘, argues Binnenland.
They will be able to receive the diet of 70 euros the persons designated for the positions of chairman and board members. Only those in holder status will have this right, not the deputies, who can collect it “only” if they need to replace a holder.
