In the tribute they have remembered that the Francoists took three days to defeat the gudaris who was in front Intxorta and enter Elgeta. Once there, they carried out a massacre against the neighbors, which killed 33 people.
Mila Monk, a member of Intxorta 1937 kultur elkartea, explained that with this act they wanted to honor the gudaris who stood at the front and the inhabitants of the municipality. Also the mayor of Elgeta, Iraitz Lazcanowanted to commemorate this resistance, as well as denounce the massacre of the Francoists in the municipality and demand justice.
