EITB FOCUS on Navarra’s upcoming municipal, regional and parliamentary elections on May 28, 2023

8,000 surveys have been conducted in connection with the upcoming municipal and regional elections and the parliament of Navarre on May 28. Through this research, we will know the societal concerns, the assessment of management and candidates, and the estimation of the voting and election results.

Euskal Irrati Telebista will publish on March 26, 27 and 28 in all its media (ETB, Euskadi Irratia, Radio Euskadi, Radio Vitoria and eitb.eus) the public investigation most widely performed in Euskadi on Voting intention for the next municipal and regional elections and for the Parliament of Navarre on May 28.

This special edition of EITB Focus will start in the various information services of EITB on Sunday 26 with a poll progress; on Monday 27, also the results of the intention to vote in the regional elections and the parliament of Navarreand on the 28th de estimates and percentages of the municipalities of the four capitals and some of the largest cities in the Basque Autonomous Community.

In total they have been performed on 8000 telephone surveyss: 6649 by the company Gizaker for the BAC and 1204 by the company GAD3 in Navarra.

Due to the breadth of the survey, for the first time the number of junteros from each of the 11 constituencies who are appointed for the election of the general meetings of Alava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. The sample used in this study makes it possible to reliably achieve that level of detail. Previous studies could only provide percentages of votes over the total for each of the three territories, and for this reason no extrapolations were made to board seats due to a lack of guarantees.

As for the predictions about the municipal elections, which will be offered results per number of council members of the largest municipalities of the 11 constituencies of the CAV: Vitoria-Gasteiz, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Llodio, Salvatierra, Irun, Tolosa, Eibar, Barakaldo, Getxo and Basauri. In Navarre the investigation into municipal elections focuses on the capital, Pamplona.

On the other hand, in this EITB focus the data on the level of knowledge and appreciation that citizens have of the leading candidates submitted to municipal elections, of the 4 capitals and the Parliament of Navarre. The survey also asked about the topics that concern society most in the field of municipal and regional management.

Once all results are released in the EITB media, all full reports will be published in the EITB Group Transparency Portalalong with downloadable files in common Open Data formats (.xlsx and .csv).
