From ‘complicated’ relationship status to ‘happily married’, a ‘Krone’ story reveals what’s happening outside the political scene ahead of the Salzburg state elections. Governor Haslauer and Co. provide insights.
We’ve known each other for eleven years, long before we got into politics.” Laurentina Egger–Kranzinger the crown”. The two have been married since last summer. At that time, Mattsee Castle formed the romantic setting for the dream wedding with her husband DavidEgger (SPÖ). “Of course our normal daily life is in the background until the elections. But that’s fine. I try to keep David’s back as free as possible during this time,” says Laurentina Egger-Kranzinger. The teacher also takes it easy when her husband is repeatedly approached on the street or even asked for photos: “It’s just part of the being a politician.”
For the life partner of Kay Michael Dankl Photos, on the other hand, are taboo: “My girlfriend works in a very sensitive area, the protection of women,” says the KPÖ-Plus top candidate. She therefore prefers to stay in the background, there are no joint performances between the two. “We will be glad when the elections are over and there will be more time for joint activities in the spring,” says Dankl’s friend, who does not want to be named, from the “Krone”.
FPÖ Salzburg boss is also covered about her real other half Marlene Svazek: “It’s a bit complicated. But the person I always find support with is my childhood friend Sebastian Schmuck. We grew up side by side in Großgmain. We still meet regularly on Sundays for breakfast, a family breakfast, so to speak,” says Svazek. Sebastian Schmuck one thing is particularly important: “I want to be a haven for Marlene, where she can always find peace despite all the ups and downs,” says the trained master locksmith. Despite the often turbulent political times, Svazek has hardly changed since her childhood: “She remained the same.”
Nothing should change for the Haslauers either. That’s what a lawyer fights for Christina Haslauer. She supports her husband Wilfried with his own campaign. “Because he’s the best!” she thinks. The couple has been married since 2017 and said yes to close family and friends. “My wife personally and mentally guides me through the election campaign,” says the governor Wilfried Haslauer.
Christian Turkhusband of Greens frontwoman Martin Berthold, knows how to do his wife a special favor: “My Schrannen purchases fill our fridge and breakfast is always on the table.” In the household of Berthold and Türk, private and professional life are strictly separated, but they both go to events together. “For example, we like to go to balls together,” says Martina Berthold.
The whole family takes it Andrea Klambauer (Neos) to their performances. “Having a well-functioning family is always very important to us. Last week I took the driver’s license together with our eldest daughter after we had practiced 3000 kilometers for the L17,” says Florian Klambauer.
