Starting with the ongoing disputes in the SPÖ against the coalition parties ÖVP and the Greens, who now prefer to conduct their conflicts in the media rather than among themselves: the tone in politics is becoming increasingly harsh. Very interesting conclusions can be drawn in combination with the body language. Rhetoric and communication expert Thomas Albrecht analyzes our top politicians in a conversation with Conny Winiwarter – and those who want to become them.
“Pamela Rendi-Wagner has the problem that she always twists and turns and never stands up straight. That indicates a lot of insecurity,” Albrecht knows. That makes her unbelievable – and could soon cost her the boss’s seat in the SPÖ. Hans Peter Doskosil also looks at him, maybe a little too much: “Doskozil has trouble making eye contact. He often looks down.” Also a sign of insecurity – and a lack of willingness to build relationships.
“I’m One of You”
Andreas Babler, on the other hand, manages to build relationships with the alleged voters: “Because he behaves like people. He’s just easy going.’ But a disadvantage could be his dialect. Albrecht: “I think he is less understood in the western states.”
‘Greens pulled over the table by ÖVP’
That there would be a crack in the coalition was clear to the communications expert from the start. “Sebastian Kurz managed to tear the coalition off the table in a very short time” – with a simple trick…
You can see which trick that is, who the classic “buddy guy” is in government and many other spicy analyzes in the video above.
