As Federal President, Heinz Fischer often received state guests at his home in Josefstadt. Pamela Rendi-Wagner is his guest this late afternoon. The two met more than 15 years ago during a state visit to Israel. The current SPÖ chairwoman was the ambassador’s wife at the time. The “Krone” lecture takes place in the library, in front of photographs by the artist Markus Prachensky and under the benevolent gaze of Margit Fischer, the espressos are served in colorful Jordanian porcelain. Outside the sun is shining, in the distance the two golden towers of the Piaristenkerk sparkle.
