Etxerat demands that “exceptional laws” disappear so that “prisoners return home”

Date:

In an act to celebrate the end of the dissemination policy, the Etxerat association has indicated that “we are entering this new era in which the exceptional laws must finally disappear”.

Relatives and relatives of ETA prisoners gathered this afternoon at the Plaza de la Convivencia in Bilbao to bear witness to what they consider “good news”: the end of the dispersal policy. The Union etxerat He stressed that a “new time” is coming where “we are very clear about what still needs to be done”. “We relatives want to express today in Bilbao the importance of the process of returning home for prisoners, refugees and deportees, in accordance with the path provided by law,” they stressed.

In this sense, they have asked that the rights of their relatives be respected and that “exceptional laws disappear permanently”. This process, Etxerat believes, “will undoubtedly serve to promote the building of coexistence in this country.”

A statement was read in the apparition in which they stressed that “this long time that has left so much suffering has finally come to an end”. The association has commemorated the 16 people, relatives and friends of prisoners who have died en route in the three and a half decades that the dispersal has lasted.

Likewise, they thanked all those people and entities who helped “lighten the burden of the heavy backpack” they insisted they had to carry over the past few years.
