Ex-Green boss talking – Glawischnig: “Turquoise green? A zache story!”

Date:

For a long time it was quiet around former GroenLinks leader Eva Glawischnig. In the conversation with Katia Wagner, she tells for the first time how she finds turquoise green. “It’s a zache story,” she says. But: “The Greens are doing their best”…

Today’s management consultant looks back on her time in politics with mixed feelings. “I’m glad I’m no longer in this industry,” says Glawischnig. She is still in regular contact with her old fellow party member Werner Kogler. While she likes the Greens’ participation in government, she is said to have “quarreled” with them at times. The fact that the ÖVP takes a hard line on migration and also the deportation of children has “hurt it a lot”.

“Ibiza Video? Made the Blues Strong”
Communications advisor Daniel Kapp, who also advised the ÖVP for years, believes that the Turks will be “fed up” with the Greens after the legislature and does not believe that this constellation will be extended. The Greens were underestimated in their “mania for regulation and education”. It is ironic that the result of the Ibiza video is that the blues are now stronger: “Whoever thought he could drive the blues to the wall with it, did the opposite”.

The problem of the NEOS
The NEOS also suffered heavy losses recently in Salzburg – they were not only thrown out of the government, but also out of the state parliament. Domestic policy chief Ida Metzger explains the problem: “You can’t let Mr. Wiederkehr sit in Vienna who did not know about the 1.4 billion euros for Wien Energie and then Ms. Krisper will sue an official in the U-committee that he has no e email processed”. The other subjects of NEOS are also not “suitable for the masses”.

Will there be a new ultra-left party?
According to pollster Christoph Haselmayer of the IFDD Institute, the contest for next year’s National Council elections is still “wide open”. If you want to see the blue “absolutely” in the first place, you may still be disappointed. Another party could also emerge “on the left of the SPÖ” – the electoral successes in Salzburg or in Germany would have shown that a party on the left fringe would have great success.

Rendi-Wagner (SPÖ) should “lock up” all advisers.
In any case, Christian Kern will not lead such a party: according to Haselmayer, as a supporter of Hans-Peter Doskozil, he could act as his adviser if he became SPÖ leader. In any case, Eva Glawischnig keeps her fingers crossed for Pamela Rendi-Wagner. But she needs to get “much more offensive” and “lock up” all of her advisors. Would she herself join a new, left-wing movement? “I am loyal to the Greens,” she promises.
