Ex-chancellor Sebastian Kurz can celebrate a stage victory in the investigations into the corruption hunters. The prosecutor’s office for affairs and corruption has closed the case in the case of alleged intervention for more salary in favor of friend Susanne Thier of the Ministry of Finance.
According to the investigation file, there is no initial suspicion: “There are no indications of deliberate abuse of power against the Republic of Austria.”
Thomas Schmid had also started this case with his “life confession” to obtain leniency status. For the former ÖVP head of government, who fell after talks with the ex-ÖBAG boss, “another allegation turned out to be false”.
In short: ‘Schmid invents false accusations’
Briefly about the “Krone”: “Thomas Schmid fabricates false accusations to become a key witness. There is huge media bias, even against relatives. Thank God the truth always comes out in the end.”
