He assures that once he analyzes the Dignity and Justice Association’s complaint, he will make the right decision on whether to open proceedings or not.
The National Court Prosecutor’s Office is examining whether it will investigate “EH Bildu’s candidacies for the regional and municipal elections of 44 people convicted of ETA membership”, after receiving a complaint from the Dignity and Justice Association.
In a press release issued this Friday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the complaint has been registered and that after analysis, the appropriate decision will be made on whether or not to open an investigation procedure for the trial.
For his part, the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaskaconsidered today in Lisbon that the inclusion of candidates convicted of belonging to ETA on the Bildu lists constitutes a “contempt for democracy” and, above all, “causes serious harm to the victims of terrorism”.
