Last Friday, the PNV and the PSE-EE reached an agreement to govern in coalition in municipal councils and councils after the municipal and regional elections of 28 May. The pact is based on the power with the most votes between the two leading the coalition.
Contrary to what happened with the previous agreement, the PSE-EE General Secretary, Eneko Andueza, believes that this time loyalty should be exercised both ways. In an interview with Euskadi Irratia’s “Faktoria” program, he assured that the PSE-EE has always acted loyally with the PNV mayors and they have agreed that the jeltzales will do the same if it is the other way around. In case of Irun and Eibar, he also hopes that the jeltzales will support the socialist mayors. Likewise, he stressed that the last word always rests with high-level managers, “so it will be in this case”. “If exceptions need to be made, they will be made, but in principle the obligation is there,” he added.
According to you, Eider Mendoza will be deputy general of Gipuzkoa, but has stressed that they will not negotiate with the PP and therefore the popular will not enter the government of the Provincial Council.
