“We don’t give a blank check if they don’t match us in the settings where we win”

The President of the PP in the Basque Autonomous Community, Carlos Iturgaizwas interviewed this Wednesday on Radio Euskadi’s program “Boulevard”, where he analyzed the May 28 election results and spoke about hypothetical pacts and city councils where the mayorship is not defined, as is the case with Laguardia and Labastida.

“We’re not going to give no blank check for the stability of the institutions, if they do not match us in the institutions where we won,” he stressed, referring to the results of those two cities in Álava.

“Society does not want the pact between the PNV and the PSE-EE to be shielded, it wants new political strategies. The PNV knows that the PP has the key to close the door to EH Bildu, and we will do so where we can. After stressing that they are going to give “with the door in the face” to the abertzale coalition, Iturgaiz has commented that if the PP is going to expel EH Bildu from the institutions so that the jeltzales and socialists can rule, “it would make sense for the PP to also rule where it won”. If not, it’s clear: “We will take it into account”.

The president of the PP believes that there are two important issues today: Turn off EH Bildu And give stability to the settings, he clarified, “and we have the key to it”. “The PP is the guarantee to throw EH Bildu out of governments. Often you have to take the plunge and choose between Guatemala or Guatemala“, he indicated.
