We can consult their bases if they give management full powers to decide on their integration into Sumar

Date:

As the telematics consultation takes place between 1:30 pm on Thursday and 10:00 am on Friday, the purple parties are forcing Sumar to speed up the deadlines as the registration limit for the coalitions that will contest the July 23 elections expires in 24 hours.

Podemos Secretary General Ione Belarra has announced the call for consultations with his bases so that they can decide whether to give the state leadership all the powers to decide on its integration into Vice President Yolanda Díaz’s Sumar project.

The telematics consultation between 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10:00 a.m. on Fridayforce the purple Sumar to meet the deadlines as the limit to register the coalitions that will participate in the July 23 elections will expire in 24 hours tomorrow at midnight.

It is not what Yolanda Díaz’s team wanted, which planned to have the agreement ready this Thursday, but no progress is being made in negotiations with Podemos. And if there have been, they cannot be announced until the result of the vote is known.

Prior referendum

As time is running out and there will be no possibility to consult the militants to ratify the eventual agreement with Sumar, the Podemos leadership has decided to propose an a priori referendum to have carte blanche in the negotiations.

The question: Do you accept that the Podemos Coordination Council, according to the unity criteria set by the National Citizens’ Council, negotiates with Sumar and, if appropriate, agrees on an electoral alliance between Podemos and Sumar?

Several territorial directorates have publicly pressured Podemos in recent hours to reach an agreement with Sumar, fearing a disaster for the purple party if they do not attend the general elections together.

The bilateral and multiparty negotiations that Sumar maintains with the troops interested in joining the coalition are focused on the weight each formation should have, the names of the lists, each party’s territorial power, or each party’s brand on the ballot paper will appear and the preparation of the program.

There is also talk of whether each party will be given autonomy within the parliamentary group in Congress, what the structures of the groups in the two chambers will look like and the distribution of government subsidies.

Más Madrid, Izquierda Unida, Chunta Aragonesista, Los Verdes Equo, Proyecto Drago de Canarias, Iniciativa del Pueblo Andaluz and AraMés They have approved the integration.
