In the explosive TV interview with Gerhard Koller, NEOS LGBTIQ spokesperson Yannick Shetty calls for an immediate ban on conversion therapies: “I call it homogeneity – a project that is completely absurd and should be banned. This position takes us back as a society to the stone age.” Under a possible future chancellor, Herbert Kickl, “the human rights of the LGBTIQ community would be rolled back little by little,” warns Shetty, who reports that there is a lot of hate against homosexuals on the internet.
Six out of ten gay or lesbian couples are afraid to hold hands in public spaces. For fear of being scolded.
“Greens behave like moralists”
But even in the work environment, a bleak picture often emerges: many in the community are discriminated against and bullied. Politically, Shetty does not only criticize the FPÖ: “The Greens also often act as moralizers, but have not been a reliable partner of the LGBTIQ community for some time.” Because in reality they would only make empty promises, they now have to “finally deliver”.
Many other clearly worded grievances can be seen in the TV video above.
