PNV and PSE-EE have reached an agreement to form “a strong and stable government” in the Bilbao city council, under which the socialists will occupy five areas in the church council, one more than in the previous legislature, by also being in charge of Education.
In concrete terms, the jeltzales will be responsible for coordinating the mayorship and cultural policy, social policy, urban development policy and strategic projects, security policy and economic policy. For their part, the socialists will lead the coordination of mobility and sustainability policies, urban renewal, healthy development, housing and education.
In a joint statement, both formations agree that this agreement will allow further progress in the “urban transformation process” in its “triple social, economic and urban aspects”, as well as in a governance “increasingly close, open and efficient.”
As they have indicated, they have reached an agreement that “guarantees stability and governability” in the Bilbao City Council for the term 2023-2027.
