The Government of Spain has opened the public hearing on the project of the Royal Decree regulating the Compensation Fund for Asbestos Victims. For example, families and associations can pay their contribution to the account until July 10.
The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration offers the victims a one-off compensation, as long as they have not received any other compensation. The surviving relatives of the victims can also receive these compensations from October 2022 in the event of the death of the affected person. The compensation ranges from 27,000 to 68,000 euros
According to sources at the ministry, the government of Spain is required to approve this fund before the end of the legislature. Once the decree is approved, damages can be claimed for the next 5 years.
