The PNV starts the election race against Sabin Etxea; EH Bildu will do it at the Arenal in Bilbao; the PSE-EE on the esplanade of the Maritime Museum and Sumar in a hotel in Santurtzi. The PP, on the other hand, will “probably” start the campaign in San Sebastián.
All major political forces in the Basque Country, except the People’s Party, open the campaign for the general elections on July 23 in Bizkaia, the territory of the Basque Autonomous Community that distributes the most seats (8).
The PNV starts the election race with a performance in front of its headquarters, the sabin etxea Bilbao, a few hundred yards from where EH Bildu will do it, in the Bilbao Arenal.
The Basque Socialists start with a performance on the esplanade of the Maritime Museum of Bilbaowhile Sumar will debut in Euskadi with a rally in a santurtzi hotel.
The People’s Party is “likely” to launch the campaign on January 23 in the capital of San Sebastian, the area where it has the least chance of a deputy.
As for the participation of state leaders in the campaign in the Basque Autonomous Community, the PP and Sumar almost certainly assume that both Alberto Nunez Feijoo if Yolanda Diaz will pass through Euskadi, something the socialists do not expect from him Pedro Sanchezwhile the far-right party Vox has the option of resigning quickly Santiago Abbascal for the Basque Country.
However, none of the four major state parties have closed their candidates’ calendars, except for major events on key dates.
The PNV, EH Bildu and the PSE-EE will each win 5 seats in the Congress for the Basque Autonomous Community in the next general election on July 23, according to the forecast of the latter sociometer published by the Basque government, which also gives 2 seats to the PP and 1 to Sumar. The far-right formation Vox would again be without representatives from the CAV.
