According to Andreas Mölzer, the potential for a revolutionary civil war has long existed in France: “The policeman’s fatal shot at the youngster was just the decisive spark,” says Mölzer. Glawischnig demands that the arrested rioters be punished quickly and directly, so that a connection between the prevailing riots, the noticeable violence and the punishments imposed on it is recognizable. Due to the migrant background, the conflict “also had a large social dimension”, says Mölzer.
