On Monday morning, a man in Vienna-Brigittenau went berserk – he spat on an emergency vehicle and attacked a police officer. Only after using pepper spray was he stopped and arrested.
It was around 11 a.m. when police officers on Klosterneuburger Straße in Vienna-Brigittenau noticed a man. The 47-year-old gestured wildly with his hands towards the emergency services and behaved extremely aggressively. Suddenly he started spitting on the passing radio trucks.
Man suddenly attacked police officers
Because of his striking behavior, the agents immediately carried out an identity check. The Austrian then completely panicked and attacked a police officer by violently grabbing his uniform and pulling him towards him.
Situation defused with pepper spray
Only with the help of pepper spray could the situation be defused and the man released the officers. The 47-year-old was arrested and taken to a prison. Two police officers were injured in the attack but were able to continue their work. The uniforms were also damaged.
