After police seized a veritable arsenal of weapons belonging to the right-wing rocker gang “Bandidos” in Upper Austria and Lower Austria on Monday, Governor Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) is now demanding that the public display of certain rocker logos in the same manner as nazi symbols.
The discovery of an arsenal of weapons among neo-Nazi rockers puts the subject of right-wing extremism further on the agenda of state politics. Following the State Security Council meeting on Monday, LH Thomas Stelzer is now requiring the federal government to include certain motorcycle badges in the symbols law.
Public displays should be banned in the same way as Nazi symbols. Violations are punishable by a report, confiscation, fines or, if repeated, imprisonment. As reported, Stelzer also wants to present an action plan with 61 additional measures next Monday.
