Threatening with ten years in prison – Immo-Deals: short “key witness” before judge

Date:

Despite the defeat in the BVT trial, the WKStA’s indictment round continues – with the risk of another acquittal …

Specifically, the (disputed) indictment concerns the former director of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) and co-defendants for breach of trust or incitement to sell refugee accommodation that would be too cheap for an investor in a shopping center. Millions would have fled the state. There is a risk of up to ten years in prison.

New star witness is the main suspect
Explosive: As the “Krone” and the “profil” reported, the main suspect is considered by the corruption hunters as a new key witness – he already reported in January – against Kurz. The then Secretary of State for Integration and Turkish political star had suspended him over the deal after a critical report from the Court of Auditors.

Now the ex-ÖIF director is said to have sued the ex-chancellor for a confession in terms of advertisements and surveys from funds of the fund at the WKStA. Nevertheless, after seven years (!) of investigation, the same public prosecutor now accuses him of the real estate trade, although the suspect denies a breach of trust and refuses an extrajudicial settlement.

In addition to dealing with a key witness, experts in the file (see excerpt above) plead the suspect acquitted. For example, there are warnings that the renovation of two buildings in Vienna will cost millions. So it’s a good thing for the state, right?
