Felipe VI opens the inauguration round this Monday with UPN, CC, PNV and Sumar

Date:

It’s Vox, PSOE and PP’s turn on Tuesday. ERC, EH Bildu, Junts and BNG have refused to meet the monarch.

Felipe VI will open this Monday consultation round of the presidency of the government of Spain, which the leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, and of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, are striving for, although neither has currently received sufficient support from the factions of the parliamentary arc.

The king will receive the parties from lowest to highest representation in Congress. The round starts on Monday at 10:30 am with the reception at Javier Esparzaby upwards, who announced today that he will no longer be a candidate for President of the Government of Navarre. Later he will meet Cristina Valido of the Canary Islands Coalition; and in the afternoon, from 4 p.m., you will receive Aitor Estebanof the GDP and Yolanda Diaz, of Sumar.

On Tuesday it will be the turn of the three parties that won the most seats on July 23: Vox chairman Santiago Abascal (10.30 am); the general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez (12:00) and will close the round with Núñez Feijóo (16:00).

There will be seven factions in total, since ERC, EH BilduJunts and BNG have refused to meet the monarch.

The XV legislature, which began on the 17th after the assembly of parliament, continues in a scenario full of unknowns, the same ones left behind by the election results of 23J, without a candidate with a result that allows him from the beginning to to form a government.

Attention now turns to La Zarzuela, where Felipe VI’s ninth round of consultations during his reign seems very complicated.

Gamarra and Bolaños on Feijóo

This Sunday, less than 24 hours before Felipe VI starts the round of consultations, the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarrainsisted on the legitimacy of his party chairman, Alberto Nunez Feijooto appear before the investiture, as he was the candidate and the most voted party in the last election on July 23.

Likewise, Gamarra has criticized the absence of ERC, EH Bildu, Junts and the BNG in investment consultation. “The fact that the political forces that are not present, Pedro Sánchez, want to be the ones to support him also shows that they have little respect for our institutions and our democratic framework,” he said.

For his part, the Acting Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Felix Bolanos, has described as “ridiculous” the “employment” from PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo for attending an inauguration, and has said that “it will remember Ramón Tamames’ motion of censure” presented by Vox.

Bolaños has assured that an inauguration of Feijóo would be “waste of time” because the “right-wing and far-right” deputies who could support Feijóo in an inauguration “are already known, they are who they are and this is not like bonuses, that a new one appears every day.”
