With negotiations on the formation of the government in the state and elections for the Basque parliament looming, the Yeltzales assure that in the coming months the “future” and “well-being” of Basque society will be at stake.
Like every year, the PNV will celebrate the Alderdi Eguna on the last Sunday of September in the fields of Foronda, and the Jeltzale formation will demand a ‘united’, ‘strong’ and ‘well-placed’ party in the Basque, state and European political scene.
The secretary of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar (EBB), Mireia Zarate, presented this morning in Foronda the great annual jeltzale festival, which will take place this year on September 24.
The chosen motto for this year is ‘The day that unites us’ (Batzen gaituena), because according to the PNV these are ‘very complicated’ times with the negotiations on the formation of the government in the state and the end of the legislature and the call for elections to the Basque Parliament. The Yeltzales assure that the “future” and the “well-being of the Basque society” are at stake and that for “the outcome to be good, a united, strong and well-placed PNV is needed in the Basque, state and European political scene. .”.
Looking ahead to the elections for the Basque Parliament, the PNV has announced that it will present itself “humblely”, but with the “ambition” to “win” the trust of the electorate to make Euskadi a better place every day. for life and coexistence”.
Zarate explained that the Alderdi Eguna “is the glue that unites us, the thousands of men and thousands of women, young and old, who believe that EAJ-PNV is the most effective instrument to guarantee and improve the well-being of Basque citizens. .” , and to move forward step by step towards the complete freedom of our nation, Euskadi.” He also hopes that Foronda will again be the party that ‘unites families, groups, alderdikides, sympathizers, friends from other countries’.
This year, delegations from Catalonia, Galicia, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Flanders, France, Occitania, Brittany, Chile, Kurdistan and Africa will also be present.
This 47th edition will be that of “complete normality”, after last year’s “reunion” after the pandemic.
