The government of Spain has called elections for the next elections November 26 in the 44 municipalities where no candidates were nominated for the 28 million elections or the results were annulled, 38 of them from Navarre.
As reported by the Acting Minister of Territorial Policy and spokesperson of the Spanish Government, Isabel Rodríguez, during the press conference after the Council of Ministers, in addition to Navarra, partial local elections will be held in Burgos (four municipalities), Segovia (one) and Teruel ( An).
The election campaign It lasts fifteen days and starts on Friday, November 10 at midnight and ends on Friday, November 24 at midnight.
As Rodríguez recalled, this is an ordinary procedure envisaged by the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG) and whose mission is “to organize the culmination of the electoral process of the municipal meetings of last May”.
For example, the law stipulates that in cases where no candidates have been nominated or irregularities have been found that have led to the annulment of the election result by final ruling or with the consent of the competent Electoral Council, partial elections must be held within a period of six months.
According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, on November 26, the election of councilors in nine polling stations in which irregularities have been found.
The Navarrese municipalities where no candidates have been presented in the local elections of May 28 and therefore a new electoral process has been opened are: Aribe, Burguete, Burgui, Eslava, Ezcároz, Garde, Garralda, Villanueva de Aezkoa, Isaba, Izalzu, Navascués , Orbaizeta, Oroz-Betelu, Sada, Sarriés, Urzainki, Uztárroz, Vidángoz, Aranarache, Bargota, Dicastillo, Etayo, Legaria, Lezaun, Arantza, Areso, Atez, Belascoáin, Eratsun, Iturmendi, Muruzábal, Tirapu, Urroz, Uterga, Zubieta , Barásoain, Beire and Orísoain.
