The supervisory authority has taken a first decision in connection with the turbulent events in the Vienna Medical Association. President Johannes Steinhart announced this on Tuesday. In concrete terms, according to the chamber, the responsible magistrate40 ordered that no legally valid decisions were taken during a meeting.
The subject of the decision was an extraordinary meeting of the Curia of local doctors. During what was reportedly a rather ‘tumultuous’ meeting in mid-September, some representatives made decisions without Curia chairman Erik Randall Huber.
Authorities said this was incorrect, as Steinhart explained. It has also become known that MA 40 is investigating the initiation of impeachment proceedings against members of the Presidium, the House Speaker reported.
The complaint against Huber is being investigated
A complaint was also received there against Huber due to a “suspected unlawful release” of funds. Steinhart himself had called for Huber’s resignation.
The arguments in the Vienna Medical Association have been simmering for months. These include allegations against the purchasing platform Equip4Ordi (E4O) – an outsourced subsidiary of the Curia of Resident Doctors.
The Public Prosecution Service continues the investigation
The Public Prosecution Service is currently investigating suspicions of disloyalty, cronyism and serious fraud. Steinhart, who was chairman of the Residential Curia at the time, is listed as a suspect. He has always denied the allegations.
