A spectacular chase took place on Monday evening when a smuggling vehicle broke through the Austrian border at Kittsee (Burgenland). The chase eventually ended when the vehicle and its ten occupants, five of whom were children, ended up in a ditch.
The wild chase started at a speed of more than 200 km/h in Slovakia. Around 10:30 p.m., the smuggler drove across the Austrian border with ten migrants, closely followed by the Slovak police.
The car ended up in a ditch
However, after about half an hour the escape came to an abrupt end when the towing vehicle ended up in a ditch on the A6 towards Vienna.
Smugglers arrested
The small vehicle could accommodate a total of ten migrants, five of whom were children. Fortunately, they were not injured in the accident. However, three people were injured. The tractor was arrested at the scene of the accident.
