After yesterday the acting President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezsaid when asked about the amnesty that they will announce their “specific position” once negotiations with the current parliamentary groups are completed, today it was Sumar’s turn.
The leader of Sumar and acting second vice president of the Spanish government, Yolanda Diazhas stated that Sumar will give his opinion on the amnesty law next Tuesday, October 10.
After the announcement by Sumar’s leader in interviews on RTVE, deputy Enrique Santiago explained to the media that it is an opinion prepared by lawyers and academics which will only be finally ready on Monday or Tuesday.
According to him, the goal of the future amnesty law “progress” in standardization in Cataloniaand ‘cover’ all ‘politically pending situations’.
As he explained, the Spanish state has already taken measures to “mitigate” the situations created by the events of October 1, 2017. In this sense, he has indicated that the people who the courts found were the ‘most responsible’. were tried and later pardoned after serving much of their sentence.
