After a long struggle, the federal government has finally reached an agreement on the management of the Federal Competition Authority (BWB). Natalie Harsdorf-Borsch, who has worked at BWB since 2009 and has been in charge on an interim basis since December 2021, will become the new boss.
To ensure that the BWB is regularly staffed, the Federal Government has now agreed to nominate the candidate Harsdorf-Borsch, who came in second place in line with another candidate, to the Federal President for appointment as the new director -General Competition.
According to the Competition Act, the BWB management is appointed by the Federal President for a term of five years on the proposal of the federal government. The Council of Ministers should therefore decide next Wednesday to recommend to the Federal President to appoint Harsdorf-Borsch as Director General of the Federal Competition Authority.
