“Club 3” – “Kickl takes first place despite Taliban visit”

Date:

The visit of FPÖ veteran Andreas Mölzer to the Taliban has of course not hurt the FPÖ in the polls. In “Club 3” Mälzer now explains the background to his journey – he hasn’t spoken to Kickl about it yet, but expulsion from the party is not a problem anyway.

The former EU parliamentarian explains that the visit to the Taliban cost the FPÖ foreign policy spokesman his job: “There was a lot of pressure in the party and they didn’t know what was going on.” Taliban tourist Axel Kasegger wanted to avoid damage to the party by resigning as spokesperson, because he knew “it would be a burden on the party,” Mölzer explains.

“The FPÖ’s success is not only due to its fans”
The Taliban case does not seem to have done any harm to the FPÖ anyway. She is still number 1 in the polls, even Herbert Kickl is ahead in the direct question of Chancellor. “Krone” columnist Rainer Nowak explains: “This is not only thanks to the FPÖ fans, but also to the other parties. They just stumble further.”

The “Pamela Rendi Wagner Strategy”
krone.tv information chief Katia Wagner sees this as a strategy by the Blues. By making himself particularly rare in interviews, FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl is following the ‘Pamela Rendi-Wagner strategy’, according to the journalist. The former leader of the Red Party was known for rarely giving interviews and for ‘letting other politicians make mistakes’. Herbert Kickl was also able to consciously avoid public confrontations.

“FPÖ is extremely dangerous”
Environmental activist Lena Schilling also believes that the FPÖ prefers to rely on its own channels. “What the Blues are currently building on social media is just bad,” says the columnist. She considers the PVV’s policy to be “extremely dangerous”. But will they be able to maintain their good research results? “The Blues have tripped over their own feet a few times,” Schilling said.
