The complaint from Upper Austria Governor Thomas Stelzer (we reported) about the omission of disgustingly false claims related to an alleged rape of refugees stunned identitarian boss Martin Sellner. He is now collecting donations for the expected costs.
A few days ago, a 15-year-old Ukrainian refugee girl in Weyer may have been raped by a 19-year-old Syrian, also a refugee. The fact that the alleged perpetrator has not been arrested is already exciting enough, see one of the “Krone” reports about it here. But then there was a rather rude telegram from Martin Sellner, the head of Austria’s far-right Identitaire movement, berating LH Thomas Stelzer of Upper Austria. Not without publicity: Sellner has 63,800 subscribers on Telegram.
Identity boss has crossed the red line
Stelzer “let the Syrian (alleged) rapist of a Ukrainian refugee girl into the country” and therefore “co-raped” him, and the politician would “co-organize a population exchange” anyway, according to Sellner’s choice of words. What the ÖVP politician doesn’t want to take. Freedom of speech or not, a red line has been crossed. He is suing Sellner for injunctive relief and withdrawal (amount in dispute €22,000), not only for the very personal insult, but also for general preventative reasons.
“There is already too much hate on the internet,” says Stelzer
Stelzer’s lawsuit also states: “Given the heated political debate surrounding the themes of migration and crime, securing the claim for injunctive relief through a court order is essential for the plaintiff to avert further damages. objectifying the debate are also in the public interest (cf. only the most recent political efforts to curb hate online).’
Identity boss complains to followers
Late Friday night (10pm), Sellner responded to Telegram on LH Stelzer’s lawsuit: “Stelzer, who is also responsible for the brutal repression of patriotic activists, focuses on my political statements. I’m discussing with my lawyer how to proceed.” At the same time, he gives his bank details to people who “want to support him for the upcoming legal dispute with the governor”.
Sellner defused his message on Telegram
At the same time, Sellner defused his May 15 telegram message, in any case the charges of “co-rape” against the politician are dropped. The offending original message is – of course – included as a screenshot in Stelzer’s lawsuit. Is this subsequent “edit” sufficient as a revocation? Probably not, because at least 16,100 Telegram users read the original message.
