The Provincial Electoral Council of Granada did not find a “legal obstacle” for the proclamation of Macarena Olona’s candidacy for the presidency of the Junta de Andalucía by Vox in the elections of 19 June.
Andalusia’s coalition requested Levantaos to annul Olona’s candidacy for “failing to meet the district requirement” in Andalusia. In addition, the group called the registration of Olona “fictional” in the municipality of Salobreña in Granada, specifically in the home of the leader of Vox in the province, Manuel Martín.
After examining the documentation provided by the candidate, the Electoral Council has stated that: “the legal conditions for being elected” in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Law of Andalusia and the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime.
Among the documents provided by Olona’s candidacy for her proclamation are her registration certificate in Salobreña, dated November 25, 2021, and her registration in the Electoral Census Office. Some documents that according to the Junta de Andalucía “are a firm administrative act, as well as their inclusion in the lists of the election census in force for the current electoral process.”
