The Egüés Valley, Barañáin and Estella-Lizarra are governed by UPN and in the three cases the regionalist formation obtained the mayoral office as the most voted candidate in the May municipal elections, but it does not have the majority in the plenary and EH Bildu is the second force, before the PSN.
The Navarrese municipal councils of Egüés Valley, Baranain And Estella-Lizarra They present a distribution of majorities similar to that of the Pamplona City Council, where EH Bildu and PSN have agreed on a motion of censure to dismiss UPN from the mayor’s office.
The Egüés Valley, Barañáin and Estella-Lizarra are governed by UPN and in all three cases the regionalist formation obtained the mayor’s office most voted candidate in the municipal elections in May, but does not have a majority in the plenary. So, as is happening in Pamplona, an agreement between EH Bildu and PSN, together with other opposition forces, could provide a sufficient majority for a change in the mayor’s office.
In case of Egüés Valley, population of more than 20,000 inhabitants, the mayor is Xuriñe Peñas, with six of the 21 councilors of the plenary assembly. EH Bildu is the second force with five, followed by Vive Egüés Bizi with three, PSN with three, Geroa Bai with two, Vecinos por el Valle with one, PPN with one and Contigo-Zurekin with one.
In Baranain, also with a population of more than 20,000 inhabitants, María Lecumberri holds the office of the mayor. UPN has six councilors out of seventeen, EH Bildu four, PSN four, and Contigo-Zurekin, Geroa Bai and PP one each.
Finally in Estella-Lizarra, a city with more than 13,000 inhabitants, Marta Ruiz de Alda is mayor of UPN, with seven of the seventeen councilors in the plenary meeting. EH Bildu has five councilors, PSN with two, and Geroa Bai, Contigo-Zurekin and PPN with one each.
