The initiative’s initiators have committed to developing joint actions to pressure the leaders of both parties towards electoral unity.
About 50 militants and sympathizers of Podemos, Sumar Mugimendua, Ezker Anitza-IU and Equo-Berdeak have launched a collection of signatures to support the creation of a unitary electoral list between these four formations.
The initiators of this initiative, including: Sabin Zubiri and Imanol Zuberomet yesterday in Bilbao, as reported in a statement on Thursday, with the aim of urging the above-mentioned political forces “to overcome internal disagreements and work to provide a strong and coherent political alternative to the Basque citizens. ”
They also wrote a signature-gathering manifesto expressing “concerns” about the “rupture of a common political space that these organizations have long shared” and entailing “weakening the capabilities” of all of them.
For this reason, they “call on” the four parties to meet with “facilitators” and “overcome their differences with generosity and realism to achieve electoral unity.”
After recalling the electoral support shown by the four united parties in Euskadi, the initiators commit to developing joint actions “that exert external pressure on the leadership towards electoral unity.”
