Grande final around the Causa Bubog around the former finance minister. On the first day at the Supreme Court, the defenders used the big stage again – Krone.at reported. The decision whether the suspect should go to prison will probably be taken on Monday.
On Friday at 10 a.m., the second day of the appeal procedure at the OGH in the Causa Buwog & Co. Initially initiated and not final, Minister of Excance Karl-Heinz Grasser was sentenced to eight years in prison in December 2020.
Grasser lawyer Manfred Ainedter already described his mandates as “guilty”. On Friday, various lawyers, the general power of attorney and the accused himself want to speak. A total of four days were planned for the procedure.
The five-member OGH Senate checks non-complaints and appeals. Subsequently, decisions can be expanded from a cancellation of the saying of the Leken Judger from 2020 to a full content confirmation.
In addition to Grasser, ex-FPö General Secretary Walter Meischberger and the lobbyist Peter Hochegger were not legally convicted in criminal proceedings under Judge Marion Hohenecker, and they had also contacted the OGH.
Early decision
According to “krone” information from Defender circles, it is uncertain in which direction the judgment could ultimately go. Some indicate that parts of the original saying must be canceled. The assessments differ whether it relates to the central causa buwog/unfaithfulness.
One thing is certain: there should be an early decision. The negotiations that are planned until Tuesday should finally end with a judgment – soon as 16 years after the Buwog corrupt case has flown in. The tension remains.
