Last Tuesday, the governments of the Basque Autonomous Community set up a Steering Council to… Euskadi Health Plan 2030whose goal is “to move towards a healthier Euskadi.”
This Steering Council, chaired by the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, is responsible for leading the development of this roadmap.
They are part of the council and represent the departments of the Basque governmentof the three deputiesin addition, the mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz and the first acting mayor of Bilbao Noble.
Their tasks will include leading the implementation and evaluation of the plan, ensuring compliance with its guiding principles, ensuring inter-institutional commitment to it and taking decisions on its update.
In its first session, the council analyzed the proposals for the establishment of the Technical management of the planwhich will be chaired by the Deputy Minister of Health, and actions for the first three years of the plan’s validity.
Between the goals that the Euskadi 2030 Health Plan defines “towards a healthier country”, four stand out: promoting the health development of children and adolescents; promote active aging and a full life; reduce preventable morbidity and mortality in the population and reduce health inequalities.
